Local Museum of Traditional Embroidery and Silversmith, Lefkara.
The village of Lefkara is located at the southeast foothills of the Troodos mountain, at the province of Larnaka. The Museum of Lefkara is accommodated at the House of Patsalos, which was named after its last owner. The House of Patsalos was purchased by the Antiquities Department and, after its restoration, opened its doors to the public on August 1988.
The House dates back to 19th century although many additions were made during the 20th. In the left corner of the courtyard a stair leads to the upper floor which has three rooms. There you will find urban furniture of the 19th and early 20th century. The furnishing of these rooms creates the atmosphere of a typical grand Lefkara house.
Traditional costumes, silverwork and an interesting collection of local embroidery (lefkaritika), for which the village was renowned, are on display in the other rooms of the upper floor.
